Health Protocols

I offer in-person visits respecting COVID-19 safety protocols outlined by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Alternatively, I also offer telemedicine appointments via HIPAA compliant secure video to all residents of Ontario.

Initial Visit

At the initial appointment, I review your main concerns, your medical history, and your current supplements or medications. We set goals and outline barriers. Part of my treatment plan includes:

  • Mindset, Sleep, Nutrition, Movement, Lab tests

  • Supplements, Meal Plan, Lifestyle Plan

  • Acupuncture and/or facial acupuncture, Cupping, Dry-needling

The initial visit is typically 60-90 minutes and involves a detailed intake physical exam. During the first visit, I listen carefully to your health history and current concerns so that an individualized treatment plan can be made. Laboratory testing such as urine or blood analysis may be recommended.

Follow-Up

A follow-up visit is made 1-2 weeks later and lasts approximately 45 minutes.  During this visit, I provide a treatment protocol that is customized to meet your specific health needs.

Subsequent visits are typically 4-6 weeks apart and are between 30-45 minutes in length. Acupuncture or cupping protocols are usually practiced once a week for approximately 4-6 weeks.

Acupuncture + Cupping

Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient therapy utilizing such techniques as acupuncture/acupressure, cupping, movement, lifestyle, diet therapy to restore balance in the bod. Acupuncture works to stimulate these channels or ‘meridians’ in order to treat the imbalance and stimulate healing. Western acupuncture is frequently used for chronic pain by increasing circulation to the area, relaxing tight muscles, and breaking up adhesions/scar tissue.

Dr. Jen has extensive training in both eastern and western acupuncture.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Cosmetic acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture is a non-surgical method of reducing the signs of aging, and with minimal unwanted side effects. It is called rejuvenation, because it is more than a cosmetic procedure - it is a rejuvenation and revitalization process designed to make the whole body look and feel more ‘glowy’. Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is based on the principle of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is also helpful for headaches and facial paralysis.

The treatment includes facial massages with rosehip seed oil, jade roller massage and mask to seal in moisture and improve tone.
